La Mediteranee

The La Mediterranee, located in San Francisco and in Berkeley, has a fierce and loyal customer base and it's easy to see why. Located off Fillmore Street, the restaurant is quaint and cozy. Their traditional Mediterranean menu offers a variety of choices, sure to please even the pickiest of eaters. Local patrons rave about their favorite dishes and enjoy the excellent service staff.

La Mediterranee is open seven days a week. Lunch begins at 11 am and continues service to dinner hours. Sunday through Thursdays the restaurant closes at 10 pm. On Fridays and Saturdays the restaurant closes at 10:30 pm. Enjoy your meal in the beautifully decorated dining room, order takeout or let them cater your next event.

For appetizers one must try the Hummus, which is a traditional dip made from garbanzo beans, tahini, garlic and olive oil. The Djajiki Dip is a creamy dip made from cucumbers and yogurt. Both appetizers are served with fresh pita bread, warm from the oven. The restaurant also offers a wide variety of salads to start your meal. From traditional greens salads to lentil salad, it might be hard to choose just one.

For lunch, try their Falafel Sandwich served with greens and tahini. The Chicken Kebab is another excellent choice and is served over a rice pilaf. If you can't decide, try the Middle Eastern plate. You can choose three different lunch items and it comes with your choice of salad, soup or potato salad.

Make sure you come hungry for dinner, you may be tempted to order more than one item. The Lamb Lule is tender lamb meatballs mixed with tomatoes, onions, parsley and spices. It served over a bed of rice pilaf. The Chicken Pomegranate is four drumsticks that is slowly marinated in Pomegranate sauce then baked with a blend of herbs. For a lighter meal, try one of their Quiches. Flavors rotate each day. For a romantic meal, the Mediterranean Meza serves two and comes with ten different house specialties.
